Bay Area Museum

The Bay Area Museum houses many treasures. Webster has a strong Japanese connection which is documented with the Saibara family collection. The land around the museum and the neighboring buildings is also an important archeological site. Karankawa Indians built a midden on the shore of Clear Lake, relics of which are housed in a display case. As the primary benefactor of the Lunar Rendezvous Festival, the Bay Area Museum boasts a large collection of festival paraphernalia.

Rosenberg Railroad Museum

Rosenberg is the county's largest city named for a railroad official, the city was platted by the Gulf, Colorado & Santa Fe Railroad Company and was the natural choice for locating a railroad museum. Alvin Historical Museum

The Alvin Historical Museum is located in the historic downtown section of Alvin. Currently, over twenty permanent exhibits are on display from Prehistoric, Indian, the Formation of Texas and Alvin, Railroad, Ranching, Farming, War and more. Other exhibits are being constructed, temporary exhibits which highlight special interests are being changed every few months, and our accession area houses over 9,000 photographs and artifacts.

The Columbia Historical Museum

The Museum is located in a 1950 bank, and pays tribute to the rich history of West Columbia, the First Capitol of the Republic of Texas, established in 1836. The mission of the museum is to bring better understanding and appreciation of the rich history of West and East Columbia to Brazoria County...with an emphasis on the families that helped settle and develop this part of Texas, home to many of the original 300 settlers who came up the Brazos River with Stephen F. Austin in the early 1800s.

Lone Star Flight Museum

The museum began as a private collection assembled by local businessman Robert Waltrip. By 1991, there were two hangars housing the collection. A few years later, the museum became the site of the official Texas Aviation Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame addition, which opened in the late 1990s, also included space for educational programs and a meeting room.
